FAQ

How has the Covid-19 pandemic affected Tenth Hour Project students?

We are still planning on our next term starting August 15th, 2020. Because our students remain stateside through the Phase One and Two of the program, there is no anticipated issues with that start date. Students will begin their U.S. travel in the later fall, and then travel to Uganda in January of 2021. With these dates so far ahead, we anticipate there should be no interruption with our planned term calendar.

What ages does this program accept?

Our target age is between 18-26; but we can make exceptions, so please feel free to contact us.

Who is this program geared toward?

This program is for any believer who desires to go deeper in  their relationship with Jesus. Whether you're a new believer or have been walking with Jesus for years, this program will benefit your walk with Him and equip you for life on mission.

Someone told me this is a gap year program; what does that mean?

The "gap year" is typically the period between high school and college (although a gap year can be taken at any time). Tenth Hour Project is a perfect gap year option! You'll be given life experiences that build up your faith and help you understand who you are, and more importantly, who you are in Christ. You will be equipped to step out into college life, or set foot on that career path, on a firm foundation of faith with a greater confidence in God's purpose for your life.

Is this program about training me to be a missionary?

Yes and No. Whether you're called to full time ministry, such as a missionary, or into a career outside of ministry, say as a  construction worker, your life should be spent on mission for Him. This program will equip you for that mission, wherever God leads you in life and ministry.

I can't afford the program, what can I do?

We encourage all our applicants to fundraise. Yes, fundraising  can be intimidating, but it can also be a tremendous blessing as you step out in faith to share your mission with others, asking them to stand with you in this great work that God desires to do in and through your life. Donations people make to this ministry on behalf of your program are tax deductible. We will provide you with fundraising resources.

Can a couple come through the program?

At this time, we can only provide for separate rooms for men and women. It is possible though, if the couple could arrange for their own accommodations while attending.

Are you allowed to contact friends and family while in the program?

Definitely! We encourage you to remain in contact with family and friends during the program to share the great things the Lord is doing in and through you. Time will be provided regularly where you are free to call and/or correspond with family and friends.

Is Tenth Hour Project part of a denomination?

No, Agents for Christ, and all it's ministry projects, are non-denominational. Understanding that each denomination has distinctives, both strengths and weaknesses, we choose to stand upon the firm foundation of the essential doctrines of scripture; these are things that all born-again Christians agree on. We let the non-essentials be a matter of personal conviction. For example, it is important to find a biblical balance on matters of worship, liturgy, and personal style in order to stand in unity as the body of Christ and truly impact the world in which we live.
