Agents for Christ was established in in 2008 as a 501(c)3 non-profit ministry in Portland, Oregon. It was in 2007 that God gave Bill James a vision to sell everything, buy an RV and travel the road serving God through the ministry of evangelism. After a series of miraculous events, God provided Bill, along with his brother-in-law and ministry partner Dave Chaffee, and their families the provision to hit the road. In August of 2008, AGENTS FOR CHRIST (AFC) was born.
For three and a half years, the Agents for Christ team traveled throughout the US, from city to city and church to church, with their vision of, "Reaching the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and teaching others to do the same." Throughout those first three years, AFC developed a variety of programs for churches; including IMPACT - a youth drug prevention presentation program and School of Evangelism, a training program to equip the body of Christ to share the gospel. During those short three years, AFC spoke at hundreds of churches throughout the US, facilitated hundreds of outreach events and ministered to countless thousands through street evangelism. It was during this season on the road that AFC also developed their ministries of Got Tracts, and the Evangelism Minute, a radio ministry broadcast on stations nationwide as well as internationally through internet radio.
In 2011, the Lord called Pastor Dave and his family back to Portland, OR to serve at the home church of AFC, Calvary Chapel SE Portland where he served for 7 years. In July of 2018, Dave and his wife came back to full time ministry with Agents for Christ as we began our newest ministry, Tenth Hour Project. Dave and his wife are serving as directors of this new ministry and living full time in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Dave continues be the voice and producer of the Evangelism Minute radio ministry and overseer of gottracts.com. He also continues to travel in America upon request for speaking engagements.
In 2012, the Lord called Pastor Bill and his family to take the ministry of Agents for Christ internationally. The James family moved to Uganda, Africa and began ministry by working with a local children's orphanage. During their first 18 months in Uganda, Bill was given a vision to start Uganda Kids Project to reach out to the spiritually and physically impoverished people of Uganda. Bill also founded and currently pastors Calvary Chapel Ishunga. When stateside, Bill is available upon request for speaking engagements.
